For the best result wash your duvet cover and shams on a cool gentle cycle with a mild liquid detergent and with like colors. Use only non-chlorine bleach when needed. If you can, line dry to best preserve the fibers and elasticity of the fabric. If you use a dryer, choose a low-heat, low-tumble cycle and remove promptly. You can iron on low heat as desired.
