We’ve touched on a few different aspects of what makes really good bed sheets. This time we’re ready to dive into the more technical details.
Most of the things that make the biggest difference in your sheets’ quality can’t actually be seen with the eye. That’s because it has to do with the individual threads themselves, and it’s a game of numbers.
In a single strand of yarn, you can have many variations. You can have short-staple or long-staple cotton, for example. Long-staple cotton spins more easily into threads without any little pieces sticking out.
The next number you need to know is the yarn thread count. The more single ply threads gathered into the yarn, the smoother the fabric.
Finally, you’ll hear brands talk about the overall thread count, which refers to the number of threads woven in a 1 square inch area of the fabric. Everyone knows that the higher the number, the higher quality. Be careful, though: you can have a higher thread count by using multiple ply yarn and short staple cotton, but it will not make your sheets softer. The standard for most luxury brands is 300, which is what Villa Cotton offers as well.
Every step of the way, Villa Cotton prioritizes softness, smoothness, and comfort. You’ll feel thedifference when you sleep on our sheets. Find out more at www.villacotton.com!
